Noah

This is by far the oldest song on the album. I wrote it years ago for a youth led service at our old Church, you may have guessed that the service was about Noah!  We recorded it for the last album (just a glimpse) but for some reason I didn’t actually put it on the record.  Anyway it’s made it here, it’s just a fun song which brings back lots of good memories (the last 2 lines are written on our goddaughter’s bedroom wall)

*  *  *  *  *

Noah was a man who was faithful to God

He lived in the desert long ago

One day God said, “I’m going to flood the earth

And Noah I want you to build a boat”

So In the middle of the desert

In the middle of the desert

In the middle of the desert

Noah built a boat!

.

Noah’s friends all said, “Why are you building a boat?

It hasn’t rained for a hundred years or more”

But Noah just smiled and went back to his work

He chopped up wood until his arms were sore

But he didn’t care that he got laughed at

He didn’t care that he got laughed at

He didn’t care that he got laughed at

He just built his boat.

.

When the boat was built, Noah had a rest

Then loaded the animals onto his ark

They waited a while then God said, “let’s go”

The clouds came down and then the sky went dark

It rained and rained and rained and rained

And rained and rained and rained and rained

And rained and rained and rained and rained

And then rained some more.

.

Finally it stopped and the boat came into land

And everyone got out and praised the lord

God put a rainbow up in the sky

To remind us that he always keeps his word

So every time you see a rainbow

Every time you see a rainbow

Every time you see a rainbow

Remember God is good!
