#SeptemberSongs Day 14 – We cannot measure how you heal

I mentioned last Sunday that on Sundays I would song some of the better examples of the church appropriating folk tunes to use in worship.

Today’s song comes from the Iona community in Scotland who have a wonderful way of marrying Scottish folk tunes with powerful lyrics.  The tune for this is traditionally set to a Robert Burns poem, Ye Banks and Braes.

It’s a beautiful song but it turns out it’s quite hard to sing unaccompanied as there is nowhere to hide your breathing and it has very long phrases!

Anyway, I enjoyed singing it, I hope you enjoy listening!

Lyrics: partially memorised but had the lyrics in front of me
Takes: 1
