Folk Song: The London Waterman

A fun song to sing and a rare example of a folk song with a happy ending!

It was originally written by Charles Dibdin for a ballad opera in 1774 but has evolved as it’s been passed from singer to singer and now looks quite different to Dibdin’s original. You can read more of the history and see the original lyrics at Mainly Norfolk.

Enjoy!
