Folk Song – Dalesman’s Litany

A traditional Yorkshire song collected and published in 1918 by F W Moormann and ‘translated’ from its original heavy Yorkshire dialect by Tim Hart (more info)

It tells of a country boy forced to work in the industrial cities. The Litany was an extended prayer in the Book Of Common Prayer asking for God’s deliverance from all manner of evils and perils.
